Bavaria B-One State of the Art yacht design by Farr

Following the spectacular premiere of the Bavaria 46 Vision at the Düsseldorf Boat Show, the guys from Giebelstadt had another blockbuster announcement: With a real 23-foot sportboat, that’s fresh competition for Melges 24 et. al.

The B/one, as the boat is called, was designed by Farr Yacht Design, and is going to be 7 meters long and 2.45 meters wide. The all-up weight will be approximately 1,000 kilos. The slim keel with a lead ballast bulb of 370 kilos, like the rudder blade, is retractable. This feature makes the boat easy to trailer and ramp launchable. The aluminum mast is stepped on deck and can be raised by two people without a hoist.

The sailplan includes a square-top mainsail but does without backstay. The upwind sail area will be 32 square meters, which is more than enough for a boat this size. The chute will be hoisted to 9/10ths of the mast height and will be flown from a retractable bowsprit, which slides back and forth in a recess molded into the deck surface, so there’s no need for an aperture in the hull. Hull and deck will be built from solid fiberglass, while a GRP floor pan with integrated keel box will be laminated to the hull to improve stiffness.

Bavaria product manager Daniel Kohl announced competitive goals for the B/one: At least 25 boats are expected to be produced in the first year, while an international one-design class with an attractive racing circuit is planned for 2012. More boats are scheduled to be distributed to sailing clubs, schools, and to events like match race regattas.

Bavaria also defined the class rules, which stipulate a maximum crew weight of 285 kilos. This means the boats will mostly be sailed by crews of three or four, while the maximum permitted head count is six. The boat also satisfies minimalist expectations for camping comforts, with two pipe berths belowdecks and room for a porta-potty and a small fridge.

The AVANTGARDE version of the CRUISER 32 and 36 has numerous additional features and a new exterior design with a matt-finish, silk grey hull with design stripes and a completely new look.

Fine, natural woods are used in the cockpit and below deck to complement the high quality layout. The high-tech sailset, electric anchor windlass and multimedia package ensure that it scores on the technical as well as the design front. It also has mainsail furling system including reefing mainsail for improved handling and offshore-quality.

New Electric Hunter E36 …Surprising value for money

The Hunter e36 is a stunning cruiser. The updated window line gives this yacht a sleek feel, but the improvements don’t end there. The hull design has been improved, featuring a wider beam further aft as well as a more profound bow hollow. The result of this hull design is a longer dynamic waterline, which means more speed.

The deck features a sleek, modern profile with large side windows allowing for increased interior light. The deck hatches are flush-mount, offering an enhanced look that complements the new profile. Lengthening the cockpit has allowed the e36 to have a cockpit that is a foot and a half longer than its predecessor. The cockpit of the e36 also features a fold-down swim platform that extends the already lengthy cockpit another three feet when folded down while the boat is docked or at anchor. Even with the fold-down swim platform, the e36 has a telescoping stainless steel swim ladder that can be easily accessed while the swim platform is up or down. This safety feature not only functions well, providing stable steps for re-boarding the boat, but also hides away, making for a prettier stern.

Extending the cockpit an additional eighteen inches allows for a larger and more airy master aft cabin that features more headroom, eliminating any feeling of claustrophobia. Overall, the interior has been enhanced with a richer look and feel. Enhancements start at the sole of the interior which features a hardwood flooring look that accentuates the true beauty of the e36′s interior. Corian countertops are featured at the galley with complementing stainless steel fiddles that not only keep items from falling off the countertops in a seaway but also serve as excellent hand holds for personal stability when moving about below. the interior wood used for the bulkheads as well as cabinet doors has been rotated 90 degrees so that the wood grain runs horizontally instead of vertically. Not only does this add a crisp modern touch to the interior, it also gives the eye the impression of a larger interior space. The salon is offered in two styles, the traditional U-shaped design or a contemporary arrangement that allows guest to face one another while seating five comfortably. The table also doubles as an additional bunk area for 2 people when the table is lowered into the bunk position.

The e36 is also available in a performance-enhanced version that will feature a deep draft lead keel, upgraded winches, spinnaker gear including a retractable bow sprit, a 42″ wheel,folding propeller,”flat top fat mainsail” for increased mainsail power, and the deletion of the swim platform to save weight and open the cockpit for a performance-enhanced feel.

Beneteau announce decision not to exhibit at London

Following a review of their exhibition and business strategies, Beneteau and all its dealers in theUKhave taken the decision not to exhibit at the 2012 Tullet Prebon London Boat Show at ExCel.

BAVARIA VISION 46 – New details about the revolutionary new model

As already announced the VISION 46 will have its world premiere at the boat show “boot” in January 2012 in Düsseldorf.

First details have been revealed about the interior: The yacht – available as two or three cabin version – will be offered alternatively with one or two bathrooms and in each case with a full-fledged shower-unit. These facts and the latest pictures give proof that a fresh breeze will sweep the segment of owner yachts.

“The concept was developed together with customers from all over Europe” explains BAVARIA’s product manager Daniel Kohl, “Owners in Southern and Northern Europe will be amazed.”

July 1st marked the delivery of the flagship in the Beneteau Swift Trawler range, the ST52 to DDZ Marine at Largs. She left the Beneteau factory at Ile de Noirmoutier in the Vendee region of France on Tuesday, taking just 4 days to effortlessly cover the 640nm to Largs with Brian and his crew from PYD at the helm.

With a Cruising Speed of 18 knots and a top end of in-excess of 25 knots fully laden she truly is a “Swift Trawler ” !!

This 4X4 of the sea is possibly the best hull Zodiac produce, with the console tipped forward all the under floor storage makes this rib a fantastic family day boat. Fitted as standard are navigation lights, auto bilge pump, battery cut off switch & a 83ltr built in fuel tank. The standard bolster seat has four fishing rod holders at the rear, that can be used with the optional back rest to make a fantastic pilot seat. Like the Pro-open 650, the 550 has a large fore deck for the optional sun deck kit.
